New Beast in the Hizouse

   Posted by: Marcellus   in Uncategorized

For those of you who are also geeks, you know how proud we can be when it comes to our computers as far as their style and power.  I had been talking smack about building a new machine for a while and now I finally have that out of the way.  It's also helped me deal with the death of dad that has happened recently as well (I'll update you guys on that soon enough, but not right now).

Well, here are the pictures of the new pc.  I'll show off the desk and dual monitor setup as soon as I have all of these boxes and manuals cleared out of this room and get some more decent pics of the layout afterwards.   Oh, and since you're thinking it, yea, I'm bragging.

Woot! Toys have arrived.  It's time to build.  Usually, I'm not too enthusiastic and tedious work, but when you're building your own system, that really gets you going.  I typically only do this for myself once every 2 or 3 years.

My new keyboard.  A bit costly, but definitely pimp!  This thing was thinner than I had imagined.

Empty case.  She shall be filled with electronic goodness soon enough.

Okay!!! Time to get this processor put together.  I would have taken close up shots of the processor, etc…, but without a good macro lens, I didnt' think it would be worth it.  But anyway, at this point, the system is built and I'm just tweaking out the lighting and installing the operating system.

Man, look at the size of this heatsink.  Expensive, but serves it's purpose well.  Even overclocked, the processor has never managed to reach 40 degree's celsius. Woot!

Cable management and wire sleeving will defininately take the most of your time when building a new pc.  Especially when it comes to cases that have a window.  Can't show off your work if the inside of your pc looks like a gathering of the nappy headed hoe convention.  (yea, bad joke)

C closeer look at some of the UV reactive wire sleeving and ata serial drive cables.

Two more view of the inside of the case

Of course, the outside of the case has to look good as well.  Here's a decent view of the backside.  I'm too lazy to take pictures of it in the dark right now, but these ports in the back light up so that you connect your accessories in the dark.

And yea, my baby has a cute face as well.  And yes, that cd drive in the front of the case works.  Very well I might add.  Plus, it's a burner.

But just in case, we have to have a second burner as well.  Not to mention an adapter for the compact flash and secure digital card crap.

A closer look at the cd drive in the front.

I'll have to take another picture once I get this desk area cleaned up some more.

And now, for the in the dark shots.  To hell with trying to caption each one.
