When I was following the development of Longhorn it gradually got less and less exciting as the feature list got shorter and shorter. I was genuinely looking forward to 'Vista' leaping over Mac OSX. Apple would have needed to redouble their efforts to get back ahead, and for us users that would have been a win-win, Windows fans gets an excellent OS and Mac fans benefit from the renewed competition. Sadly, it was not to be. The Vista screen shots I first saw looked like an OSX skin applied to XP. I laughed out loud when I saw them. Hideous!!! The DRM soaked 'Vista' is the best thing that has happened to us all. You wouldn't believe how many people I know who have dumped Micros**t for Linux or Apple. For those who are hanging on, when is enough enough?! I feel so bad for Micros**t fans right now.

But don't attempt to check me in what I say. It's job is to create software for consumers, and as a PAYING consumer, I have a right to voice my opinion to the company on the issues that I have with their software. You should have also followed the converstation back on Charle's blog to see how he felt about what I wrote. Next time, look before you leap and you won't get burned. I have gone the Linux route and what a difference! Fast, free and stable, all things Microsoft software most assuredly is not. I have seen the future and believe me it is not Vista.
